Noosa's North Shore and Rainbow Beach

Every visitor to the Sunshine Coast should visit the wilds of Noosa’s
North Shore. Best explored by 4WD independently or on one of the
regular tours, Noosa’s North Shore boasts 50km of pristine white sand
beaches, untamed nature and sparkling blue sea stretching all the way
from the Noosa River to Rainbow Beach.

If you’re visiting by car just hop on the vehicle ferry at Tewantin
for a short five minute crossing, but check the tide timetables first
and plan your trip so you’ll be driving up or down the beach at low
tide. The tide comes in fast and you definitely don’t want to be
stranded.
While on Noosa’s North Shore you can go horse riding, camel riding,
swimming, surfing, fishing, hang gliding or sailing. Scenic highlights
include Teewah Coloured Sands, where the dunes cover the color
spectrum from light yellow through orange and red to brown, and Double
Island Point with a walk to the lighthouse. Fish are abundant in the
coastal waters off Double Island Point so look out for turtles during
your walk, or organise a diving trip before you leave to see the
marine life up close.
There’s a range of accommodation available on Noosa’s North Shore from
resorts and holiday houses to camping on the beach or inland, where
you can cool off in one of the swimming holes. Even if you don’t have
enough time to stay on Noosa’s North Shore it makes a great day trip
from anywhere on the Sunshine Coast.
The township of Rainbow Beach, the Sunshine Coast’s most northern
point, also offers a wide range of accommodation including
backpackers’ hostels and is the ideal stop off point on the way to
Fraser Island.
Named for its colourful cliffs visitors to Rainbow Beach will also
enjoy a walk to the Carlo Sand Blow at sunset or sunrise for stunning
views over the whole area. If you have time to spare don’t miss an
early morning trip to nearby Tin Can Bay where you can stop to feed
the wild dolphins.
Conveniently situated a two hour drive north of Brisbane, Noosa’s
North Shore and Rainbow Beach have everything you need for the perfect
beach holiday and make a good base for day trips to Noosa, the
Sunshine Coast Hinterland, the Eumundi markets and Fraser Island.

Visit Noosa’s North Shore and Rainbow Beach this year for a holiday
you'll remember for life.
