Dolphin feeding happens under the guidance of a group of knowledgeable volunteers who also record data on each visit for the Environmental Protection Agency. They aim to raise awareness of the dangers the dolphins face and threats to their environment.
Feeding time is 8am to 11am every day. Feeding the dolphins is free, but a small donation of $5 is requested to cover the cost of the fish for the dolphins’ breakfast. Due to health considerations only fish supplied by the Dolphin Centre can be used. During feeding the volunteers take small groups knee deep into the water, so come prepared – you’ll get a little wet!
Remember though, these dolphins are wild and there are no guarantees they’ll appear ‘on time’. If they’re a little late, sit back and enjoy the wait with your own breakfast at Barnacles Cafe.
