The restored Gympie Station on Tozer Street allows visitors to explore its history and learn about the railway line before boarding. The Platform No.1 Cafe serves dine-in meals and takeaway options to enjoy onboard. A gift shop offers local products and souvenirs. Guests can engage with train drivers and tour guides prior to departure.
The journey crosses the Mary River and winds through curves, bridges, and gentle hills, passing tributary valleys including Yabba, Kandanga, and Amamoor Creeks. The train also stops at Dagun township and Amamoor, a historic town near a forest reserve home to over 120 bird species. At Amamoor, passengers can observe the engine turning on the turntable.
