Ride the Valley Rattler! Take a journey on this historic steam train through the beautiful Mary River Valley. Tours depart from the fully restored Gympie Railway Station and take you across the Mary River, past old gold workings and through the rich, lush countryside of the Mary Valley, with its dairy farms and pineapple and macadamia plantations.

The Rattler stops at the original train stations along the way. To keep in the spirit of the day you can enjoy a delightful tea with scones, jam and cream in the old fashioned refreshments room. You may even find delicious, local wine, cheese and produce markets at your stop.

Look out for Theme Train events throughout the year. There’s a Teddy Bear’s Picnic train, with games, goodies and face painting for the kids, and other journeys providing music and entertainment for adults.
