When's best to visit?
It's not called The Sunshine Coast for nothing! The Sunshine Coast has one of the highest recorded hours of sunshine in the world!
The summer months are from December - February when temperatures can reach an average of 84 degrees. Its also the wet season when a sub tropical downpour might just be the thing you need to cool those steamy temperatures! Summer also attracts the most visitors to the Sunshine Coast with factors such Christmas and New Year holidays and long summer school holidays. The winter months are July and August. Temperatures are around 21 degrees during the day but can get chilly early mornings and evenings.
The spring months are September - November where the temperatures really start to pick up without a very hot sun and autumn, March until June brings another temperate time of the year on The Sunshine Coast.
What to pack?
If visting in summer months pack cool clothing and bear in mind the humidity. A hat for sure to protect you from the sun, sun glasses for the glare and... an umbrella. Yes it is the summer but it happens to be the wet season and you might just want to protect yourself from a frequent tropical rainstorm! If you are planning on walking then don't forget your hiking boots or walking shoes. Mosquito repellant is a must in high season and of course the all important sun cream. Boardies and swimwear are all you need for the day. Don't overload your suitcase you can always buy swimwear and beachwear at the many surf shops along the Coast.
